I never knew bootstrapping a company would be so hard. Everything is a breeze when it’s just an idea.
All hell broke loose when I registered Vade Labs Private Limited in June 2021
Being from a technical background, it was hard for me to understand the taxation system. I never knew I needed to learn the intricacies of Finance before starting a company.
I got bombarded with multiple compliances, which we need to do as a company—hired a CA firm that could help us with that.
After getting that part sorted, I started building the founding team to help me get the initial version out.
I asked my wife to look after the Finance, HR, and Operations related matters. I hired a full-stack developer and a couple of interns, asked one of my college friends to help out in product development and do things I am incapable of doing. I am so glad that they agreed; otherwise, it would have been more challenging than it already is.
Overnight my role shifted from an individual contributor to a person who needs to code, manage the team, delegate, know about the taxation system, go for clients’ meetings, keep the morale of the team-high by selling them the vision of the world where you could build an application with no-code at one unified platform, Vade Studio
After lots of discussions, feedback, design, and code pairing sessions, we realized we were too ambitious to start with. Instead, we should focus on a niche problem and grow from there.
So, after conversing with many prospective customers, we decided to focus our efforts on building a no-code platform that enables building backend applications in minutes.
Our insight is that majority of backend development involves integrating multiple data sources into a unified API interface. Our platform Vade Studio will allow users to combine various web services and databases to generate a unified API that other applications can consume automatically.
For the year 2022, that’s what we are going to work on. We plan to devote all our time developing it and launching our Private Beta by 31st March 2022. We will keep you updated with the progress we make every week.

Do you have any resources or a lil more in depth you can share on registering the company and the compliance requests you were talking about?
What are the common things you learned that everyone will have to do while registering a company in India? I see you are from Bangalore. Any state govt related experience that comes to your mind? Did you think about another state other than Karnataka?
Is there any general compliance requests related experiences coming to your mind while registering a software company? It would be really useful since this is less discussed here.
Good luck! :)
Firstly we need to register a company under MCA in India and also apply for GST registration for the new company. Compliances are in form of monthly returns and incorporation forms to be filed with respect to them. I had hired a CA firm that could help us with that.

Thank you @pragyanatvade. That is a good set information. And the link was really useful. Thanks a lot.
