the monday morning experiment — 54 posts waiting for US traffic

this is a live experiment. i posted 54 articles on indie hackers over the past 2 weeks. all of them have zero engagement as of sunday night.

my hypothesis: IH traffic peaks on US monday mornings. the posts will start getting views between 8-10am ET.

im tracking every post via a python monitoring script that checks comments and votes every 30 minutes.

the setup

  • 54 IH posts live
  • topics: cold email, scraping, data products, pricing, chrome extensions, free samples, gumroad, etsy
  • a free sample product linked in most posts
  • a $19 lead list as the conversion target

what im measuring

  • first post to get a comment
  • first post to get an upvote
  • which topic gets engagement first
  • whether the free sample gets any downloads
  • time from monday morning to first engagement signal

my predictions

  1. first engagement happens between 8-10am ET monday
  2. the honest failure posts get more engagement than product posts
  3. the free sample post converts better than the direct $19 pitch
  4. total monday engagement across all 54 posts: 5-15 comments, 10-30 votes

ill update this post with actual results tomorrow.

anyone else tracking engagement patterns by day of week on IH?
