The MVP “sweetspot”

So I’m currently working on my MVP and arguably the most difficult part is not coming up with ideas but it’s knowing which ideas are relevant. I can’t think of any metrics to follow to know if what I’m wanting to add will make the MVP make more sense or if it’ll make it a convoluted mess. I’d be interested to know peoples thought processes on deciding if something is necessary or fluff.
