The "naked" truth about your start-up 💩

hmm,

Tricky subject, isn't it?🤫

Is it better to don't say all the things 🔇?
I am still thinking where to begin with....

Let me put it like this:

I have thought that building a start-up ... wait a second - what I thought is totally not what it is....

The naked truth, the naked truth is that we don't have customers till this moment. Its one month of having the product online, reading all this successful stories "after 20 days we've got 2185 users" is not even helping.... trust me its not. I am little bit stuck, demotivated as entrepreneur, little bit depressed about how to move the product to become more marvelous.

That's why let's put your all accumulated sh!t here. Feel like this post is your personal psycholog, listening to you, listening to your doubts, and even not judging!

Yep, simple as that. No judging.

Is indie hackers only for "bravo"?🧐 I hope not, we are just humans, building something for humans.

Don't be shy, and begin typing on your keyboard all your thoughts about your start-up, especially those you hate to speak about.

I am here for real connections, for true people.🤓

ps. Just a question by the way, does people only like to read sweet stories?🍬

I totally agree with you. IH can be really demotivating sometimes, when you see everybody but you having a huge success 😄

I'm building this app and I gave myself a month to make it and I have 5 days left and I'm so behind the schedule that I don't even want to think about it 😄

Yeah.. time deadlines sometimes are stressful, but they seem to work! Imagine if you didn't push yourself like that, where would you be now with your app.
I think people sometimes don't appreciate themselves!
You do a great job! Keep going ☀️

Thank you! I love hearing about the 💩 parts. Here are mine:
I've been consistently blogging for a year and never had any traffic,
I've failed at building my first web app (the main feature was broken),
I've failed at starting a bootcamp with a friend (we had 0 signups),
I've failed at building a community to help students pass a national exam (I passed it last year).
Yet I'm feeling more pumped than ever before to start something new! 💪

Thats crazy! This world need MORE people that never give up! How did you felt when you realised that you failed again? 🥴 Have you spoke about it with someone?

      1. 2

Idk 🤔 it felt like a win... They say it takes many failures to finally succeed.

    Good post Karolina,

Ya, some ideas hit immediately and take off. Some ideas go through many iterations and then take off. Some ideas never take off and rightfully so. Being a founder for 3 years now, it's a lot of learning to understand how to make something people want but it's been hard along the way.

Got a .com for your idea?

    1. 1

Hey Bill, thank you! Yes we do have a domain name with .com :)

Oh, I see. I thought you made this original post to get feedback for your product. If yes, you can post and I can share just my thoughts! Otherwise good message.

I hear you. Nothing is easy! I’m feeling particularly tired at the moment. Tired of the struggle. I’ll have an up couple weeks and then stall out and then boom, I feel like maybe I’m just being silly about everything and there’s no way it’s going to go anywhere. And I just kind of have to be with that. Until I get another wave of conviction about the potential of what I’m doing and I get some more energy to take another few steps, knowing it could all end no where. It’s a tough process but no one said it would be easy! In fact pretty sure they said it would be incredibly hard, if not impossible. But you, and I, started anyway. So I feel like there’s a win there in and of itself.
