The one con I have found thus far with a Saas.

I was talking with another business owner about how I struggle to to stay motivated and focused whilst working alone. He comes from a business that is contract by contract.

He said, "Well if you don't work, you don't get paid."

I didn't respond, but I thought, well that's not exactly true. If I don't work, I will get paid for at least a year (possibly more) with how low my churn is.

My challenge now is to make it feel like I'm not going to get paid, or provide some bonus structure for myself...

Maybe an unpopular opinion: instead of focusing on carrots and sticks, focus on self management and professionalism.

    • look for ways to learn and grow, even if nobody is telling you that you have to.
    • commit to yourself to show up and do the work even if you don't feel like it.
    • set quarterly goals that you can actually control, and decide ahead of time what you're gonna do to make them happen.

I'm having trouble understanding the con here :)

It seems like his situation is more "no work, no pay". SaaS business models tend to have a lot of leverage.
