The Passion Economy (a16z)
I recently came across this article by a16z on the Passion Economy as well as this follow-up discussion, and I found this whole topic fascinating for a few reasons.

I think this trend really speaks to why Indie Hackers exists in the first place and why it has been so successful at attracting entrepreneurially-minded developers.

It really puts the developer solopreneur / indie hacker persona in a much broader context as an industry trend towards monetizing your passion across a bunch of different use cases: such as Substack for paid newsletters or Podia for monetizing video courses.
The one thing that IH is missing is the monetization piece, and that's what we're trying to tackle with Saasify, but I'd be really curious to hear the community's thoughts on the passion economy overall and how IH fits into this meta trend.
Hi @saasify. Great post. I also came across this a16z piece a while back. I think as the long tail of human creative output is played out on the internet, more and more people will be able to make a living from pursuing their passion projects and create sub-niches that can gain followings from all around the world. I also believe that blockchain, crypto and web3 will play into this eventually for facilitating value transfer on a peer to peer basis in the 'passion economy'. Saasify looks like an interesting project. We are trying to help bridge the technical knowledge gap at opensourceacapital.co to help non-technical creators and builder get started online.

@saasify 100% agreed with the article and the greater trend of the creator/passion economy. I feel there are many millions of people that will earn a full time or a side income from their passions using such services. One reason I'm creating http://kogram.io/ for paid newsletters and an indie entrepreneur community http://indiestack.org/ for people to discuss their multiple income streams. I'm so excited how indie everything is going :)
