The Problem With 50 Slides Strategy Decks

I've been a digital marketing professional for over a decade, worked in agencies in Europe, North Africa, Middle East and North America...

I’ve seen founders pay $10k+ for “marketing strategies” that come in the form of a giant deck. Beautiful slides, slick charts… and absolutely zero value.

Here’s the problem:

Strategy without practical action items is just expensive theater.

Agencies building 6 months or 1 year strategy while the market moves too fast for that pace.

What you actually need is a clear growth map, planned tests, and constant iteration.

A 5-slide roadmap you implement following your business' needs will outperform a 50-slide “vision” that overwhelms your team and sits in Google Drive collecting dust.

Curious, have you ever been burned by a strategy deck that went nowhere?

Local Python scripts have a structural advantage in the current market: they're immune to the SaaS subscription backlash. No recurring costs, no vendor risk, no data concerns.

The positioning challenge is that 'script' sounds less polished than 'platform.' Worth double down on the positioning: 'the tool you own, not the subscription you rent.'

I recently needed to build a slide deck to pitch at a popular tech event. I didn't have anything that I wanted to pitch built yet, however. I wanted to present about knowledge graphs and vision models. I knew enough about both, however. and I had enough time between submitting my pitch and giving it. So I used Gemini to draft a simple slide structure. I tweaked it cause Gemini is pretty sub-tier when it comes to doing anything. then when I had a structure I liked, I went to lovable to build me my slides. all took less than 2 hours of work. the 5 slides that came out were better than anything I could have come up with myself. I screen-shot each page and submitted it as a pdf.

Pitch decks are a different deal, once you have a clear structure and solid pitch, thanks to all the assisting AI tools now, you can build it in hours as you mentioned. When it comes to marketing strategy ones however, different story, it requires advanced understanding of the business and its strengths, consumer psychology, market trends, to propose practical tactics that will achieve business goals, that's just my 2 cents!

Yeah I have not done a marketing deck before but I have done a business plan and what you say resonates well. It took me a few hours each day for 2 weeks to get it done - AI helped me clarify my thoughts. After getting the business plan down, however, a roadmap is pretty easy to define.
