John Lee Dumas is the host of my favorite podcast on entrepreneurship: Entrepreneurs On Fire (or EO Fire).
He has done over 2000 interviews with various entrepreneurs like Barbara Concoran, Tony Robbins and Seth Godin and generated over $17 million dollars so far.
All these achievements while sticking to his 7 daily podcast episodes a week schedule. And he has been doing this since 2012.
What is his secret?
He revealed that he does his seven days per week podcast only on every Tuesday of the week.
One task, one day, one week. Every Tuesday, he grinds through all interviews for the week, back to back, from 9 am to 5 pm.
8 years, Over 2000 interviews. One simple Rule. Remarkable.
P.S: I curates strategies from established founders every week to your inbox at https://mailchi.mp/cec8710b1002/growthunt
It may be productive and make him good money (I guess these are the key metrics) but I do think the quality suffers a lot. The interviews are predictable, formulaic, lack insicive questions and feel like er, he records them all on a Tuesday.
For this reason EOF has never caught fire for me and I've only listened to one or two and binned him.
I'm clearly the exception to the rule however. He's posting big numbers.
That is true. His interviews are formulated and usually the same few questions everytime.
