The results after the first 24 hours after launch

Yesterday I launched my first startup, called Segro (https://segro.app).

My little milestones:

  • 19 installs in the last 24 hours
  • Featured at: lauched.io & remote.tools
  • Wrote my first posts on IndieHackers
  • 77 unique visitors to my website in 6 hours after launch

But most valuable of all:

  • Got tons of feedback on my landing page
  • A lot of things were not clear directly, but with the feedback I am currently improving it.

Also, many people are asking me when the Android version will be available. It is nice to hear they are interested and may see the product as valuable to them.

With the feedback I feel like the product quality is growing.
I already talked to a lot of people who find the app cool, but the website was not directly clear to them.

At this stage, I am adding little improvements to the product and I will keep fine-tuning my landing page for a perfect first understanding of my product.

I also have got a lot of feedback from subreddits which really helped me.

Just sharing the progress I made the last 24 hours.
Do you have any more feedback? Let me know!

Ps. Segro is an open startup. All metrics are available to everyone at: https://segro.app/open

Great use case. The sync is working well and the interface is simple and engaging. I'll use for a few weeks and see what specific feedbacks I'd have as a regular user. I love this type of apps related to accountability and I've been using a couple in the past but end up giving up mainly because I need to fill out the information manually in two different platforms (calendars + app) so your solution works perfectly for me!

Awesome Justin. I'm usually a good user in terms of customer research so I'll be using the app for a couple of weeks and gather some feedback and share to your email :)
Once again congrats on finding a solution that control freaks like me love <3

Thank you very much, I consider myself a control freak too I guess. I can’t wait for your feedback!
Have a nice weekend and I hope you like the app. I am currently looking at options to give people who help me premium for free; I will let you know more about this!

Will do :) Enjoy your weekend as well!

Next challenge for you is reacting to the use cases of your users and drilling down on ways to add value based on those use cases.

If invoicing is a major factor in this, perhaps look at integrating with other popular invoicing tools (Xero etc) or build a basic invoicing system that uses the time data to compile it's billable amounts.

Keep listening and reacting to your customers and how they use your app. You'll find they utilise it in ways that you haven't anticipated, which gives you another angle of inspiration to build your application.

      Thank you for replying!
Exactly, I hear so much good ideas around since the launch (and also a lot of stuff I forgot at first).

To me it is now listening carefully, optimise and keep iterating to build a sustainable product.

I like the clean landing page design you got there for your app.

It seems like you're doing a lot of work upfront. How are you looking to monetize your current free users?

    1. 1

Yes I did a lot of work for preparing!

I didn’t think of free user monetisation yet. My focus was on the freemium model and eventually convert to premium users. But free user monetisation is definitely something I should brainstorm about! Thank you very much for your reply!
