The right way to build your SaaS startup | Bootstrapping vs VC

I'm fed up with the: "this is the right way to do something, the rest is dumb" advice.

I'm shedding some light on different approaches and their pros and cons on my YouTube channel.

This is the first video of a series looking at different startup approaches, more to come.

Let's bootstrap Stefan! I'm with you on that. Was the same for me. Thanks for sharing

      Giving VC the boot? 😜

Now I'm the 'all under control' team 😆. So let's slowly but genuinely grow our business. Just my view.

          It has pros and cons.

I'm actually a big believer in partnerships where you give away some control, but you make the pie bigger for everyone.

For example, we partner with distribution / product partners often.

They own the problem, we own the solution.

          They sell, we build.

Makes sense bro! I know it has pros / cons. Currently I'm on this game, but I also agree with making what you really know and outsourcing other tasks!

Just keep an open mind, I would say.

No harm in revisiting decisions once in a while.

Just make sure it's still the right path and not one you're too "lazy" to leave sort of thing.

              Good luck 🍀

@nafetswirth Stefan, your video was truly eye-opening! I'm eager to put your tips into practice. In your future content, I believe exploring effective marketing strategies for solopreneurs would be of great interest to your audience. Thank you for your valuable contributions!

      Thanks Debajit!

I might be looking at some but only on a very high level.

Like "Building a standalone SaaS vs. building on top of another platform" or "Ads" vs. "no ads"

If we get more specific like with marketing channels it's bit tricker because we tend to generalize that something "works" or "doesn't work" and it's hard to say without your context.

good start, Stefan. agree that there is not a single truth for everyone.
and you look a bit tired though.

      Haha, I am.

From someone else I heard I look like a psychopath so I think this is a step in the right direction ;)

      Thanks haha.
