Synopsis:

The River Six is a coming-of-age story about Sidney Carleton, a wayward teen in foster care who will soon be forced out of his support system. After years of searching for his only living relative — his absentee father — he is horrified to discover that the man is languishing on death row in Texas as a convicted serial killer.

Sidney has two close friends: Boone Tate, a teenage sex addict who has begun a secretive new love affair, and the mildly autistic Granger Penny, whose condition makes him an easy mark of verbal abuse at school.

As the forbidden details of Boone's relationship begin to surface and Granger's persecution turns physical, Sidney is forced to reckon with his dark family history and a single impossible question: When both nature and nurture conspire against you, can friendship alone be the basis of a life worth living?
