The Rollercoaster Journey of AIBookTools: From Idea to Launch Day Chaos

Hey Indiehackers, Sameed here. You might've seen my tweets about #buildinpublic and my recent launch of AIBookTools.com on Product Hunt.

I want to share the behind-the-scenes story, from idea to launch day chaos.

The Problem I Faced

I love books, but the wisdom was hard to implement. My bookshelf was turning into a museum of knowledge I couldn't use.

The Solution

So, I built AIBookTools.com, a platform that transforms book wisdom into actionable insights.

How I Built It

Marketing Site: I used my expertise in Jamstack to build a fast, responsive site.
Stripe Setup: Integrated Stripe for seamless payments.
Pricing: After researching competitors and surveying potential users, I decided on a $59 annual fee.

Launch Day
I was ready. Everything was checked off. I launched on Product Hunt with a special discount. But then, disaster struck.

The Chaos
I use Vercel for hosting, and their edge function timed out just after launch. The app broke. It was a nightmare.

The Recovery
After a few intense hours, I fixed the issue. Then, I updated the Product Hunt page with a video demo on users' demand.

Unfair Competition?
During the launch, I also encountered some shady tactics by competitors. Is it legal? I'm not sure, but it adds to the experience.

The Road Ahead
The app is live and working, but you, the users, will shape it. Support us on Product Hunt if you haven't already.
