Hi everyone!
I wanted to write this little post to talk about some of my experiences with... landing pages!
I've had many startups, and the process of creating a landing page is always 2 things.
Firstly, it's exciting! I can't wait to tell the world about how simple my platform is...
Secondly, it's excruciatingly painful. I see ClickUp's website, Jira's landing page, and so many established platforms have such a wealth of information, graphic design and things I can't possible compete with.
However, I've learned over time, that I can stop trying to design a landing page with 6-7 sections in one go, and start focusing on one, tiny section, that is built with love 😎.
Yep, just one section.
I'm working on Hero, and if you scroll down to the bottom, you can see an FAQ-esque section. That's all I had because I had to seriously focus on the product.
As the months went by, I'd get more and more ideas about what I could add to the landing page, and thus was born another section!
I know that Hero is not the place of the most amazing landing page (ironic in its own way), but I'm working on a v2 of the product, and the landing page can only ever be as good as the product. So I'm excited to understand the new version of the product, and in turn, understand the new purpose of the landing page.
TLDR; Stop trying to design your landing page with 10 sections in one go, and grow it naturally over the course of your ever-evolving product. Is a section more amazing than the rest? Move it to the top, that's my 2c 😊
