The Story Behind Postround

I’ve spent thousands of hours on the golf course. Junior tournaments, collegiate competitions, and even a stint in professional golf. Through all those rounds, I developed an obsession with improvement, not just playing well, but understanding why. Why did I play lights out one day and struggle the next? What separates those who perform consistently week after week?

So, I did what any data-driven competitor would do: I tracked everything. Fairways hit, greens in regulation, putts per round. After every round, I logged my stats, scribbling them into notebooks and spreadsheets. But it was a grind. Manually recording stats after walking 18 holes felt like more of a chore than a strategy for improvement. And analyzing it? Forget it. Manually sifting through notes to find patterns was like panning for gold with a teaspoon.

I couldn’t shake the thought: There has to be a better way.

That idea simmered. What if logging your stats was frictionless? What if you could see not just your scores, but the real story behind them? What if, instead of manually jotting down numbers, you could snap a photo and let technology do the heavy lifting?

But I didn’t want to stop there. Golf is a complex game, filled with infinite variables. What you do off the course often matters just as much as what you do on it. I realized that true performance wasn’t just about tracking stats, it was about understanding the whole picture: practice routines, sleep, recovery, and even health data. If I wanted to unlock real insights, I had to build a system that tracked it all.

That’s when my journey took a turn. After my life in competitive golf, I pivoted into product design. I wanted to create solutions, not just dream about them. I taught myself to code, learned to build products, and got to work on an MVP of what would eventually become POSTROUND. I built the first version with the sole purpose of solving the problems I faced for years, manual tracking, disconnected data, and the lack of real insights.

It started with a simple frustration—hours spent logging stats without actionable insights. Now, it’s a mission to help every golfer understand their game at a deeper level and improve with purpose.
