The very first update on indie hackers
Hi indie hackers,
This is my first post on the platform and I just want to share a small update with you. I discovered indiehackers just recently and it's an amazing community and platform. Every day I come here to look for new insights and inspirations.
I don't have any viable product ideas on my mind yet, unfortunately. I thought I had a good one - but after some research and analysis, I decided to give up on it. If you are curious, it is about smarter feature flags\toggles with programmable syntaxis and inches to the gaming industry.
Still looking for good ideas and going to do some brainstorming today. Thanks to Pat Flynn for the "smartpassiveincome" courses, it's free this month so I try to take the maximum from it :D

I think you should find a problem in an industry that is already paying for a solution and see how you can give them something which is more suited to their needs.
Notice that I didn't use the word better since I don't think it has to be "higher quality", just something that is more "for me" and not "anyone who has this general problem".
For instance, feature toggling is very general and has many "sub-niches". I always found the software I encountered to help with feature toggling too complex, so I ended up writing a "feature service" myself.
I'm sure there's a segment of clients you could create a solution for which would better suit their needs. Once you get 1K-10K clients and have a budget, you can start expanding that beachhead, but for now, build a small, very segmented base.

The issue that I've found many existing services for feature toggles. There are usually general-purpose or mobile-oriented services with established pricing strategies. I thought that the gaming industry will be a good niche candidate since I have experience working in the gambling-oriented apps on the backend side.
The problem is that the potential clients are medium-to-large gaming studios. I have no experience in sales or market research and I have no idea how to do marketing and get initial traction among gaming studios. Is there any feasible strategy I can apply here? Do you think that I still should give it a go?
