Our waitlist is taking off so I added PostHog analytics so I could have some visibility on where the traffic is coming from.
There was a little direct traffic and some from X.com, but the best performer was from indiehackers.com.
Thanks to this community and if you aren't posting updates for your product here, then you should start now!
Signed for waitlist. I have similar family situation and am always trying new learning apps for my kids.
The problem I find is that, even if the app is fun, they lose interest if it isn’t tailored to exactly their “learning need.” If it is too easy they get bored. If it is too hard they get frustrated. There is a 3rd version where they are kind of into it but it is not matching what they do at school so I pull the plug so they can focus on what school is needing.
My dream is that the fun side is complemented by a “pedagogy engine” that ruthlessly isolates what’s confusing my girls, and tailors the task to fill the gap.
Like in math, when kids learn to tell time, there are several foundational skills required (skip counting, knowing the two hands, understanding how 12 hour cycles work).
With my youngest, I couldn’t consolidate time because she had one tiny misapprehension on how it 12 hour periods worked.
The thing is, “pedagogical content knowledge” is a known thing. A teacher somewhere will know how to ID the conceptual flaw and then knows 4 ways to try and address it.
I almost want any Ed app to be running on some giant semantic tree of pedogogy knowledge (imagine a Wikipedia for all learning tasks with the pedagogical “gotchas”).
Then the app can learn and adapt.
I'm really excited that you have signed up.
We are going to support Knowledge Spaces from KST using a knowledge graph and track the students completion of each node.
Every second of focus is important so we need to maximise the impact!
If we detect a student struggling to grasp a topic we can use LLMs to help us present the topic in another way. Learning from what works for a given student will also help improve how we can teach them.
how did you decide to use posthog instead of other services?
I usually just use Google Analytics, but a heard a few mention PostHog and wanted to try it. My usage of both services is pretty basic tbh. I probably need to up my game in that respect and SEO in general.
Very promising idea! Please check your confirmation email, it redirects to example com when pressing to confirm the email address. I hope I am in ur waiting list :)
You're def on the list 😁 I'll resend confirmation emails when I'm sure it is working.
When did you get this email, because I thought I fixed that earlier today?
I just tested and it does work now. Thank you for letting me know though.
