One of the most challenging things for me was to admit that many people are wrong and I am right. It is still challenging. But I caught the pattern.
This is an underrated take and I largely agree.
Memetic theory came to mind as I read this.
Most of us are playing other peoples games, unaware of what we truly want as an individual.
Play your games. Play them in hard mode.

I agree that believing in yourself is important, but for me, I try to follow this Richard Feynman quote: "The first principle is not to fool yourself – and you are the easiest person to fool.”
It's very easy to convince yourself that what you're doing is going to be successful and then not see the writing on the wall that things aren't working. Keep working at your goals, but do be aware if it's not working, and don't fool yourself into thinking it is.

Exactly! And it might point, you might convince yourself because society and others have weight and impact on you. And you can't distill your truth from the truth of others.

That's precisely my problem. I gave and give a lot of weight to the opinions of others. And the further I go, the further I realize that nobody knows everything and nobody knows how to live my and your life.
I know that you know it better than I do. You have your intrinsic truth. Friends, family, and society will try to overwrite it 🤷🏻♂️
I think it depends on who is giving you their opinion, how well they know you and how similar their position is to yours.
I'll give more weight to the opinion of I friend that I trust, and I know understand me well, than some random stranger.
Yet there is value in all opinions.
If you're clear on your own values and have a principled core that can't be easily moved, you can hear anyone out, imo.
Do you have this core? How do you define it?
It's just the things that I believe in that are based on fundamental concepts.
e.g Courage, Justice, Wisdom, Temperance

I didn't want to say that I am objectively right and they are objectively wrong. I meant that nobody could tell me how to live my life.
