Thinking of building a community. Need help.
Hello, amazing Indie Hackers,
With the start of 2022, I am on my first task of the year which is to start a community. I have been long thinking to start a community around audio/ voice/ podcasts. But unable to figure the core theme on which I should build it?
I need help from you all to suggest what core idea this audio community can be built around?

I'd recommending thinking about it in terms of a Minimum Viable Community, there's a bunch of other stuff there on community.

What communities are you a part of that you enjoy being a part of ? (and why?)
I think "support" and "comradery" are simple concepts to start a chat group. It's a simple way to start a community from zero.
Facebook groups are simple to start as well. I made one called "I Love Google Sheets" and that's it. You can do "I Love Podcasts!" and that's it. just start there. if it's too general and you think of something better later, you can change it or make a new one.
One more simple format for a group/chat/community I've seen is WIP. Work In Progress.
Consider making a group around Podcast WIP. People who are working on, editing, creating, and growing podcasts.
I really like the idea of WIP groups. Can you share such groups/communities I can check out?

I'm building a product called Shortcast (https://short-cast.club) which aims to solve the inefficiency of the process of creating a podcast. Considering this, I wish to build a community around audio.

I think combined with all the other advice and resources you've gotten here, you'll be able to start figuring out an initial direction! It's OK to try something and change your mind later, as well.

Yes, currently we are in beta in form of a web application. We are going live with a mobile app next week. 15th January to be exact.
