The number 1 reason the vast majority of indiehackers fail is because they can't get enough paying customers.
Without enough paying customers, 1 of 2 things happens:
And this happens because of 1 simple and easy-to-make mistake...
Building a large Twitter following is a monumental error for indiehackers.
Doing so is the reason why the vast majority of indiehackers fail to get paying customers and therefore end up failing.
Why?
Because trying to build a large following on Twitter leads you to focus your attention on the wrong thing - numbers of followers, likes, and other VANITY metrics.
If you want to build a successful business, the only thing that matters is the money that your activity on any social media makes.
And the truth is that you don't need a large Twitter audience (or put much effort into it) to generate good revenue.
For example, I have pitiful Twitter audience of less than 100 followers.
And yet, I can trace back 4 figures of last year's revenue to a single tweet I made. A tweet which took me 30 seconds to write.
For details of why that Tweet worked, you can check out this article - https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/steal-tweet-made-me-4-figures-revenue-less-than-100-followers-monk
Note, that this doesn't mean that Twitter is useless, far from it. It just means that you need to focus on the right thing - generating revenue from it rather than focusing on vanity metrics.
So, stop focusing on building a large Twitter following & start focusing on monetizing the following that you have!
