Nuts. Of course there is a large element of virality and luck here. But he has been working to get lucky for years.

Interesting that he uploaded them to Gumroad, and embedded the form on a Notion site using Super. Took about two hours to set this all up. (he already had the icon made etc)

Guy has 9k followers. So he still started with an audience. I guess the lesson here is: "Build your Twitter audience to a point where you can consistently launch interesting products once-in-a-while and hit a home run like I did".

He certainly had an audience when publishing the product, but the majority of it has been built in the last few days.
Plus, by reading the article you can learn that the growth was achieved because he got featured on a video of Marques Brownlee which did +4.5M views to this day.

There are a lot of factors that enter into account for the success here.
At the end of the article he shares multiple advices, from which "Publish often" and "Act Immediately". These are IMO the ones IHers should act if they want to increase their odds of being successful.

    Crazy. It's a pretty cool story :D

Very cool story and some good lessons. I like the proof of work sentiment ie building in public and sharing work. Even if you don’t get a like or response on your tweet immediately (or ever) it serves as proof of work for someone reviewing your history. Thanks for sharing.
