I just finished the MVP for CrowdMagnet: A Newsletter Cross Promotion Marketplace so I redid the landing page to reflect the finished product.
I've build a lot of landing pages and I'm pretty proud of this one, but realize I'm not the best judge of my own work.
What do you think?
https://www.getcrowdmagnet.com
I agree with most of the comments on the landing page. It's very nice, professional, strong call to action, and describes what the product does.
I am not crazy about the balloons. I think the image is exactly the opposite of what you are trying to convey - not single individuals being lifted into the air, but a network lifting all into the air. "Rising tides raises all boats" type of thing.
Also +1 subscriber. I submitted the Scrappy MarTech newsletter. I've seen you talk about Crowd Magnet in our Slack newsletter communities.👋
Thanks Michele! And thanks for singing up!
Rising tides raises all boats is exactly right, but, yeah, the hot air balloons as a metaphor for "we're all rising together" doesn't really work. Gotta think about that some more.
Pretty interesting concept @adamlangsner
I think the design itself is unique and you're in the right direction.
Would be great to know if you've a focus (i.e. industry, topic) in terms of the early adopters
I'm not limiting it to a particular industry/topic. But! I am trying to recruit more members based the current members. So if you joined CrowdMagnet with a Crypto newsletter, I would then actively go out and try and recruit other Crypto/Finance related newsletters for you.
Honestly, it's a great landing page.
Only reason I'm not subscribing is because I'm just starting my newsletter and have 1 subscriber. The copy of the subscription page makes me feel like I'm not ready to sign up yet.
Thanks! Just subscribed, so now you have 2 subscribers :). I really like your idea. The video aspect is interesting. I think you shouldn't feel like you can't sign up just because you're starting out. I may try and recruit people with earlier subscriber counts (< 100).
Curious, how are you planning to find entrepreneurs for your video interviews?
Alrightyy.. you've convinced me. I made an account :)
I have some contacts I can reach, but also cold emailing. I've gotten really good at cold emailing and convincing people to hop on a call with me doing market research for a startup.
It's looking good! Though I agree with other comments that the main image is at odds with what the platform does – the hot air balloons don't instantly make me think of making connections or growing together, which is the real value in your platform.
And I also agree that the icons in the first few images are on the large size and distract from the copy.
On a side note, I've added your platform to our list of newsletter directories as I think our audience would find this tool useful: https://blog.emailoctopus.com/list-of-newsletter-directories-and-aggregators/
Good luck with it!
Thanks! That's good feedback. And thanks for sharing it with your audience!
It's a good looking landing page. I love the minimal look. What I like the most is that you are convincing people on the experience of the product and not the features. You pulled it off elegantly. Here are some suggestions from my perspective:
Why I suggest this?
It's make a direct connection with the visitor without having to scroll down.
I'm referring to something like StackAdapt has done with their hero section. They use ads, you can use the newsletter cards in a slanted fashion.
Hope this helps.
Thanks! I see what you mean with StackAdapt. I don't have users yet, but when I do I'll definitely consider doing something like that. (with their permission of course).
It's a great landing page, I got what you're trying to do immediately.
But why only for newsletter guys?
What about us app guys who want to promote on newsletters? 😁
Also, how do you plan to monetize?
Thanks!
Maybe I'll expand it in the future, but just wanna focus on Newsletters to get the ball rolling.
Not sure about monetization, I may have a Resource center with deals for products/services that newsletter creators would want.
Congrats! Great looking landing page.
It took me a few times before realizing that this was NOT a marketplace for sponsors and creators, but a cross-promotion opportunity for newsletter writers (I guess that's why it leads with "Cross Promote your Newsletter" - 🤷🏽♂️). Anyway, just a couple of my own initial thoughts:
1 - "Showcase Your Own Newsletter" over "Submit Your Newsletter"
2 - "Discover Matching Newsletters"
I connected more with the language of growing together over cross-promote. Good luck with the service.
Sat ✌🏽
Thanks! This is really good feedback. I’ll think it over
Agree with @sat why don't you give the newsletters live names, not like The Hockey Letter, but something real like "The Hockey Tactics Newsletter". And you need to figure out something with icons of the newsletter examples, maybe just flat icons? Then they wouldn't take away so much attention to themself.
Great job with the website!
If you have feedback for our website we would appreciate it! paperless.io
Hrmm, real quick, I think the concept is memorable in that I'll likely think back at it in the coming months.
The "opportunities come to you" part is what caught my attention.
Congrats on the MVP.
The page is pretty good. I like that the CTA has good contrast and that you have plenty of white space.
I do think you can improve further with a few adjustments.
I would explore additional headline options. The current one isn't bad and I like that you call out your target audience, but you might be a bit more persuasive if you call the end benefit out a bit more. Cross promotion is a tactic; the benefit is growing the newsletter. Plus, I had a bit of a different expectation after reading the headline. I thought the product was going to be some sort of a distribution platform rather than a networking solution.
The background image in the hero section doesn't really add anything to the message. I'm not sure what the hot air balloons has to do with cross promotion. I would see if you can come up with something that advances the message.
I think you've done a nice job of concisely explaining how it works, but it would be good to include more benefit. You don't just want people to picture the features, you want them to picture how using those features will translate into new subscribers, lower costs, etc. Think about what's in it for them.
I'd make the text a bit darker so that it has more contrast with the background. That will improve readability.
I'd add some social proof in the form of testimonials, logos of current user newsletters, etc. That's going to help with credibility.
Since you aren't charging for this, I'd highlight the free aspect of it more. Free is one of the most powerful words in marketing.
Best of luck.
Thanks for the detailed feedback. I'll definitely have to rethink my main value prop.
It's my pleasure.
I think it's a pretty great landing page :) Great job Adam!
Thanks!
