THIS is what it costs to run my $30,000 a month SaaS product...

Often we only talk about the revenue side of a business, so in today's vlog, I decided to do the opposite and talk about the costs of running my SaaS product.

We talk software, marketing, advertising, and more.

That's a good collection of tools at work. But what was it like when you just started?

When we started it wasn’t really a different stack actually, but the main difference was, being almost all of them freemium, we did not pay as much as we do know. Mainly because it was just me and we didn’t need all of its paid features.

Cool vlog Mike, like the content. I'm curious about your content marketing strategy, specifically about backlink acquisition. How are you doing that?

Thanks, appreciate it :) Doing lots of guest posts and sharing content that people are willing to republish and share.

Me being developer, hearing you spend 3k a month on the entire team of devs :D

Sorry, misunderstood your comment haha. It’s a team of 1 front-end dev and one back-end dev and they’re now working part-time on the product. The initial cost for building the product was much and much higher. Hope that makes sense :)

No worries :) Yeah, that explains it. I mean I completely agree with everything being said, it was just funny for me :D

Yes, I'm a non-technical founder, so need to spend money that way :) But on the other hand, like I addressed in the video as well, I do save a lot money on the marketing-side, being a marketer myself.

I think netoff was more surprised at how low the dev team compensation was. Many full-time entry-level developers make more than 2x that amount, for one person. Now, if your team consists of part-time or on-call freelancers, that's a different story. I'm not criticizing by any means, just found it interesting.

Ah, sorry about that, totally misunderstood. But yeah, it’s a team of 1 front-end dev and one back-end dev and they’re now working part-time on the product. The initial cost for building the product was much and much higher. Hope that makes sense :)

Another great one! You mentioned the current cost of the devs so I was wondering. When you built the MVP, how much did that end up costing?

Thank you so much! Will do a Q&A in one of the upcoming Portugal vlogs, will address this question :)

        Looking forward to it :D
