This part of Seth’s podcast episode (called “Friction”) really stood out for me:
“When everyone can yell (on the internet), it’s the people who have earned the right to whisper, who will be able to make the best work.”
He talks about how the internet reduces friction and gatekeepers (meaning, anyone can build an app, create a podcast, start a blog) but what's tricky nowadays is getting leverage.
Leverage, earning trust with an audience, building up a repertoire of work over many years, is what differentiates makers today.

I loved this podcast & I listen to every episode. For some reason, I've never viewed friction from this angle. Before I was frustrated with the friction that existed, but now I realize it's important to be thankful for it.
This whole episode seems largely influenced by his early book, The Dip.

Yes, anyone can build an app these days. But it's much easier to promote if you're Garyvee, for example.
