Thought Experiment: What business would you have launched in 2008?
My friend and I were kicking around this thought experiment: Knowing how the business world and tech industry changed since 2008, what business would you have launched as an Indie Hacker? (i.e., your business has to be bootstrapped-funded and either solo or small team)
lots of Android, iOS apps .....
Instagram
crypto exchange.
I was already running a brick and mortar business that was growing very slowly and I was thinking a lot about other opportunities.
My investment returns had greatly exceeded those of the market for 7 straight years and I was seriously considering starting a fund. Potential investors were lined up. I'm so glad I dragged my feet and never launched it!

Most business that got big couldn't be done IH-style without venture funding by just one or two people. Like you could not have reasonably started AWS from your home. Similarly some core technologies were very difficult in '08 (e.g., it would have been pretty hard to do something like Slack given the state of websockets).
