Thoughts on Another AI-Driven Solution: News Summarization Service
I'm currently developing a project that processes news articles and condenses them into brief summaries of four to six sentences using OpenAI technology. I'm curious if anyone in the community would find value in a tool like this. I know I would, as it can be tough to stay informed on global happenings, and having quick overviews of trending news would be a convenient solution when I don't have the time or interest to read all the details.
Do you think there's a market for this kind of service? I've been eager to experiment with the OpenAI prompts API, and this idea particularly resonated with me because it addresses a challenge I personally face. Naturally, there are hurdles to overcome, such as ensuring that summaries are comprehensive and accurate, but I plan to tackle those issues as they arise.

Think it's a great idea! I recommend to focus on a niche since I would categorize this idea as 'low-hanging-fruit' now the API has been out for a while. Big companies will start to experiment with this as well, sooner rather than later.
If you can aggregate articles on a niche, from a broad spectrum of media, you can definitely build some income with this idea.

100% agree. It doesn't help that there's a lot of red tape around how people use these News APIs, and some of them aren't even allowed to be used to re-distribute their content. So i'm sure when big providers like New York Times or Bloomberg add AI to their stack, it will blow an idea like this out of the water.
Will definitely keep this channel posted if i figure out the legal aspect of some of the APIs i'm playing with, and launch an MVP!

That's awesome! I did not know about RedwoodJS, will read up more on it. Yeah, summarization is super basic, so i'm trying to brainstorm on how to make this service unique and fun.

That is an interesting idea indeed! I myself struggle with keeping up with all these news, and I certainly would rather read a quick summary on whatever articles I see in 30secs or less. I'm definitely interested to see what you come up with on that project.
I think there is a market for this, absolutely! My take is that, what makes it more interesting other than the fact that they're brief summaries? Are you thinking a Web/Mobile app?
Thinking of a web app, i think a Mobile app would be a nice tough, though. Definitely agree that i should make it unique in a way other than just providing summaries.
