Hi everyone, this is my first post here.
I've been working on https://www.reciperium.com for a couple of years now, I use it a lot, along with some friends who really enjoy it. But I'm now struggling with growing the user base.
I'd appreciate some feedback about the application itself, and maybe some tips on how to grow.
I have plans to add images to the recipes soon, should I focus on finishing that or finding more users?
Regards
I have rarely used recipes, so I don't match the user persona. Still, my thoughts are that the app is for developers who have an interest in cooking.
Application
I did not register and use the app, but merely visited a few public pages. If someone likes a recipe on the internet they will need to copy the text and edit it to apply the recip-lang markup. Maybe the friction here can be reduced?
Growth
This looks like an app I would find on Hacker News. I think dev communities will be a good place to start.
If you plan on monetizing this, I suggest finding more users and getting their feedback. Use their feedback to prioritize features.
thanks! I'll think about dev communities
This is nice! One thought from my own cooking chaos 😅 —
Most of the recipes I find come from YouTube shorts or Instagram reels… and I always forget to save the link.
A tiny AI helper that extracts the recipe from a video link (or even from pasted text) would be super useful.
It could really match how people actually discover recipes today. You might be able to use this to grow your users maybe.
I love anything to do with recipes but this is not talking to me. As a dev i love it, but as a daily user no sorry. Even the landing page has to stick and be on the topic you are selling. Otherwise great idea!
The idea behind Reciperium—building an app for organizing recipes
"Reciperium" sounds like a great app concept for recipe discovery and organization! The name is catchy and suggests a vast collection of recipes, which could appeal to users looking for variety and easy meal planning. Depending on its features, such as filtering by ingredients, dietary preferences, or meal types, it could offer a highly personalized and convenient cooking experience. Would love to hear more about its unique aspects!
You can use AI with structured outputs to parse user input, so users don’t have to learn a new markup language. It’s relatively easy—I recently implemented it on my Recipe Site Creator
Great job! However, if expanding your user base is the priority right now, you might want to consider using SEO AI to optimize your content for search engines. It can help boost your app's visibility, attract organic traffic, and ultimately bring in more users. Looking forward to seeing it grow!
