Hey Indie Hackers,
I recently updated my landing page and would like to know if it is clear. Is the value proposition clear? Do you understand what it is? Does it make you want to sign up and try?
A bit of background. I struggle with writer's block and focus so I built Typeboost. Typeboost is a writing productivity tool which uses music to encourage you to just write and get your ideas onto the page.
landing page: https://www.typeboost.io
Thanks!
This is a cool idea.
One thing that I've found is describing the benefits before the process (this may engage users). Right under the first section describe the benefits (i.e. better focus, more fun, increased creativity). Then go into the process. My thought behind this is - if it's not going to benefit me, then I'm not worried about how it works.
I'm not a designer by any means, but it seems like it took me a minute to get to the bottom of the page. I may think about making the process steps closer together.
Lastly, I love the # of words typed. Are there any other metrics you're able to put up that speak directly to the value proposition? Maybe something like the most productive type of music? "We've found that users who listen to classical music have a reduction in down time of 20%"
Thanks for the great ideas and feedback! I agree with all points.
Anything I can do to help you? I'm happy to give feedback.
Yeah! That'd be awesome. I'm also trying to get some feedback on my landing page. I'm early in this build (I have all of the AI code to perform this, but trying to figure out what our product should be). So, at this stage, I'm trying to see what's getting people's interest. I've realized that it's hard to critique your own work.
Any feedback would be great!

Looks good. Each landing page has clear message and value proposition. The primary call to action button is great value driven text as well. I didn't know what "L & D" was until I read further. You might want to consider using the full term in the header (and everywhere?) unless this is already clear to your target customer. It's neat idea to have the visitor opt into the landing page. Another way to do this might be to have a "Solutions" dropdown in the navigation like some other enterprise solutions I have seen. I would be careful that you are not a solution in search of a problem. Sounds like you have some technology and you're trying to find an application for it. I would focus on a painful problem that your customer has and then work backwards from there. I particularly liked the idea of reducing problem of employee attrition. This is a real/painful/expensive problem for companies. Best of luck!
jules7 Thanks for your advice! You're exactly right we created a tool that we think is close to solving a problem, and I'm trying to figure out if we can get PM fit. I think I was focused too much on making the solution sound easy that I haven't spent enough time highlighting the problem. I dove into use-cases to see what would garner the most interest, but failed to highlight the overall problem - most HR/People Analyst aren't able to extract actionable insights from their data.
The landing page is clear, but I would like to see a demo, or at least a video of how it works. I am almost certain I would just play with this for a few minutes (as it is a fun concept), but not use it for trying to be productive.
That's fair. I might consider creating a fun writing challenge demo for visitors to try the concept first and share with friends. Thanks for the feedback! Anything I can help you with?
You came up with a pretty cool idea. I think that could be pretty engaging for users.
The landing page is clear for the most part. I get the general features and concept. There is some room for improvement, though.
The current headline doesn't really do anything to build excitement or intrigue. You're burying the benefit. I would lead with the pain point you're solving. The headline could be as simple as something like "Beat writer's block."
Then in the description below it, I would work in more about the unique aspect in a way that pays off the promise more. Maybe you could position it as a productivity hack based on science or something along those lines.
I would test different wording for the call-to-action buttons. It's not bad. I like that it's descriptive and starts with a verb, but it has the same issue as the headline. There's nothing that ties it to the main benefit.
As for the graphic elements, I agree with the @lgaud that the screen shots are too small. It's hard to see what I'm looking at. It may be better to just show the specific features you are trying to illustrate rather than the entire screen.
I would also remove or change the music genre buttons to bullets or some other type of text. I understand that you're doing it to match what's in the product, but the expectation for visitors is that clicking them will do something (i.e. play a sample, pull up a list of songs, etc.).
I hope that helps. Best of luck.
I really appreciate the in depth feedback! All good ideas for improvement. You will see these changes soon ;)
Anything I can look at for you? Happy to give feedback.
Glad you found it helpful.
At this time I don't have anything I need feedback on, but I appreciate the offer.
Interesting Idea @jules7 , Congratulations! :)
Some WoW factors
* Simple and clear
* Why it works section
Some observations
* Screenshots are a tad small, maybe its just me but I think increasing the size will help see the details clearly in the snapshot
* Will it be possible to have a try it section, where you have a glimpse of what you offer by giving the users an area to type and as they type play some predefined music.
* Because of the choice of the background color, page seems to have a lot of white space. Maybe picking some other light color for the sections would reduce that effect.
* I think the "Sign up for free" CTA button needs to have similar styling to what the "start writing - it's free" has. Also, making the login link as button would improve the look I believe
Hope it helps!
Thanks for the positive comment and great feedback! This definitely helps. Do you need any feedback? I'd be happy to take a look.
Glad you find it useful! Would love to get your feedback on NotesAlly(https://app.notesally.com)
Also would like to collaborate more, could you accept my LinkedIn invite.
Looks good! I'm not very familiar with this problem space, but I think your value proposition could be improved. Sales people want to close more deals and make more money. How does your product "CRM hygiene" and "AI safety net" do that? In other words, the desired result is not a clean CRM, but lots of customers. You can learn more about this from the "job to be done" framework. Example header, "Reduce human error and close more leads". Example sub-header, "30% of sales are lost because of bad data entry or missed follow ups. Notesally, automates yours sales pipeline with ai so that you never miss a sale."
I hope this gives you some ideas. Good luck!
Thank you very much for your feedback and the suggestions @jules7. We will look into this, cheers!
I like the music note animation, and I think it's fairly clear what it does (though I don't think I personally would use it!).
On a big monitor I have to scroll past a ton of empty space between each item and the screenshots are tiny. Maybe it works better on a phone? But I'd prefer to see it more compact, particularly for "below the fold".
And the Sign up and log in buttons in the top right don't feel "right" somehow, maybe because one is styled as a button and one as underlined text?
Thanks for the feedback! Interesting to hear that the landing page looks bad on a big monitor. I'll look into that.
Do you have something I can take a look at? Happy to give feedback.
Hello Jules...based on guidance that I have been given in the past, it's best to actually give someone a taste of the experience before you start asking for their information (email etc.). That way they know that they have mada a good decision to be a part of your endeavor. It's like when you're watching a youtube video, and before you know if it's good or not, they are already asking you to like and subscribe...what (?). Give something before you ask for something. I'll try to support further as you proceed.
Appreciate the feedback! I'll think about ways I can build trust and give more value before asking for information.
Anything I can help you with? Happy to help.
This is a super cool idea. Never heard of a product like this, but it makes sense. I think explaining the science further, while still keeping it concise would be helpful. Also i think it should be first screen, why it works, how it works, and then testimonials. Very cool concept though!
Thanks for the feedback and suggestion! I’ll work on that.
Let me know if there’s something you’d like me to look at. Happy to help.
Would love to get your feedback on my landing page- https://ours.community/
Is it easy to understand? Does it need to be simplified further? Does it make you want to sign up?
Sure thing! The design is clean and the message is clear. I don't think I would sign up, but I also don't think I am your target demographic. The primary benefits that I picked out were "holistic health", "conscious living", and "Vedic teachings". I don't really know what these things mean (especially Vedic teachings), but hopefully your target customer does.
Spotted a typo on membership page: "If you resonate with our values, we’d love to for you to join us on this journey. "
Cool page and idea! Hope this helps.
Fair enough, really appreciate that and it's line with what others are saying. I know Vedic is a more esoteric term, but you think holistic health and conscious living are also a bit too abstract? Why do you say you're not part of the target audience (not that you have to be ofc but just a curious question)?
For me those terms are a bit abstract but maybe not for your target demographic. I say that because, at this point in my journey, I am not very spiritual or practicing yoga.
Thanks for this great product! As a potential user, I would love to know what kind of music is available to listen to with your product. Can you name some genres that I could enjoy as a user in the landing page?
Thanks for the great feedback! I can work on making the music options more clear.
Let me know if you need any feedback. Happy to take a look.
I looove it! 👏🏼 It's immediately clear from sentence 2. In fact, maybe swap lines 1 (just write) & 2.
Thank you! It's taken a few iterations but I'm glad the idea is clear. I appreciate you taking a look. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help you!
Really cool idea! Landing page is clear to me (what it is, how it works and value prop).
As with any new/more innovative ideas, I think it'll be great if you can let users try it out before they sign up. My initial thought process "I'd like to give it a go but I'm not keen on signing up without knowing how this woks for me".
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the feedback! I'll think about a good way to do that.
Anything you need feedback on? Happy to take a look.
Thanks for asking! I’m building https://wisery.io Would appreciate your thoughts/feedback.
Cool idea! I think the hero (above the fold) section is doing too much. I suggest replacing the forgetting curve image and changing the subheader to something like "90% of the information that you read is forgotten in 7 days. Wisery helps you retain information and build lasting knowledge." Then in the following section you can explain what the forgetting curve is with a description and image/graph. I think this would help sell the problem/solution of the product and then you can explain the science behind in separately. I hope this helps. Good luck!
Very helpful, thanks!
Looks cool
Thanks!
