I designed the start of an app to support substitute teachers find jobs, get trained, and communicate with teachers. Here's the case study: https://www.rabalaisdesigns.work/work/project-one-as5bp I would love your feedback on what went well and what could use improvements!
I'm super impressed with how you've done this up like a real study. I think a lot of people skip over this, congrats!
I think next you need to go beyond exploring the product's features with users, because they wouldn't be the ones paying you money, right? I'm assuming that schools would.
That means it's time to talk to decision makers. Are they even buying anything right now with COVID? What does their budget look like for software? How would a product like this get purchased by a school district, and how would you be getting leads into those opportunities?
And, if it is the case that school districts are buying this product (and the subs aren't paying you money directly), then you need to be interviewing them as well, just as rigorously. What are their pains around this process?
You need to be careful with school districts. Just because a product is better doesn't mean that they'll buy it like a private business would. Make sure you fully understand how your product fits into the sales cycle.
To summarize what I'm trying to say... You've done a great job of doing user testing of your actual product, but now it's time to explore market risk, channel risk, and your unique risk of selling to school districts.
Good luck!
