Thoughts on this landing page?

Hi IH,

Alignr is looking to help companies create business & customer value faster by using visualizations to improve how product strategy & discovery is approached.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the landing page. What works for you? What doesn't? What are we missing?

Landing Page: https://www.alignr.io/

Thanks in advance for any support.

Visualize your product strategy & discovery
    An outcome-focused approach to maximize
    customer & business value

Your hero text is a bit too vague for me. Nothing interesting really sticks for me, even after reading it a couple times.

I think your animated GIFs are very handy and demo the product's functionality and look and feel quite well. I think it could be improved by using an example use case/case study to drive each feature so it all flows well together.

    Look great overall!

    Hi there.
    The tech looks interesting.

    My 2 cent:

I think your Hero text doesn't explain what your tool does.

I find much more appealing the text lower in the page.
    Like:

    • Use real customer feedback to influence your strategy
    • Prioritize opportunities to identify the solutions that deliver more value with less effort
    • Explore and choose your customers’ highest value opportunities

    Or a mix of those.

On the page, there are 9 screencasts (if I'm not wrong).
    I believe it's too much.
People don't have time to watch all of them.
I would keep 2 (max 3) screencasts on the Home page and then add a CTA like "Want to know more?" and link (or popup) to a full demo performed by you about the product (max. 5-6 min).

    Good luck.

Overall it appears well. and you seem to have covered a lot of ground in the copy. The product also seems promising, looks like great tech.

Some thoughts on the landing page:

    • The UI is clean and neutral but I would like it to have a little more personality to hold my attention - bigger bolder headers or higher contrast between title and body text. Maybe introduce one more colour other than the greys. It could be a complementary yellow/orange that works with the teal.

    • Body text in each "How it works' block is getting overpowered by the visuals - I would suggest increasing the point size

    • The banner copy could be more direct:
Visualize your product strategy & discovery
      An outcome-focused approach to maximize
      customer & business value

Maybe adding a little more information in the sub heading could be helpful.

    • There is a lot of movement for me. You could either provide more padding between the gif (side by side as well ad the top and bottom blocks" or reduce the size)

And it took about 7 minutes for all the gifs to load for me. this was on safari. You might want to optimise the size

    Good luck Matt!

    Hey @oconn,

The 3 opportunities in the examples are 3 negatives.

    • "I don't want"
    • "Frustrating"
    • "Tired"
      Is that on purpose?

Your tech looks really cool. In the first demo, you are panning the canvas up and down and left and right, without moving your mouse. How are you doing this? With your keyboard?

What also looks a bit frustrating is that the layout is unfolding as a tree. Some content is hidden at the top of the screen. You have to manually move it into view. Is there a reason you don't top align, like a kanban board with separated scrolling columns?

The UI looks really clean, great work! Especially the subtle gradient at the bottom of the columns, nice touch!

    About the animations, I recommend;

    • slowing them down a bit, to make it easier to follow
    • have a clear start and finish
    • show a progress meter in the animations.
    • Only auto start one animation
    • Only show one animation per row, this allows you to add more text.

    Cheers,

      I love this.

About the negatives being on purpose.

Yes, this is a method for conducting discovery. The idea behind the opportunity space is to take user feedback and map it into your tree in the voice of the user. Normally that presents itself as a problem statement or challenge.

"panning the canvas up and down"

That's trackpad scrolling. You can scroll using the trackpad or click and drag.

"Is there a reason you don't top align, like a kanban board with separated scrolling columns"

All cards are linked & related to the cards in the prior column. If we we're to scroll columns vertically the subsequent columns would have to auto scroll as well which could be interesting.. Is this what you are suggesting or am I misinterpreting your comment?

      Thanks!

        Check!

I've seen multiple column scrolling somewhere to solve the expanding next column problem. But I'd go for a Finder Column Layout. In which the current column stays fixed, and the next column expands with all related items. Like a folder structure. Yours is cooler, but I think the boring column layout offers better UX.

Looks perfect. My only complaint; gets a little tiresome seeing the same animation per container. After the first container (the one below the fold), I felt like I knew exactly what your product is. So the continuous containers with the animation can stop? And the points can be condensed to a single container. Just my humble opinion.

What I like is how it actually displays how product works :D

The videos are nice but the issue is that there's too much going on now...try to cut it down to 3 MAX

I would also make the content be more "contained" so it's centered a little bit more to the page rather than spanning across the whole horizontal page

    A few points:

    • The hero title should lead with the primary benefit of the product. Right now, it just says what it does
    • There is too much vague jargon in the sub-head
    • Regarding the videos in the following sections - It takes too much effort to figure out what is going on in the videos. Besides, they are very similar between the sections Uses will simply skim your page and will give up if can't figure out what it is.
    • Right now, you have the copy included in panels with the videos. This makes it even busier. I would skip the panel-based design to make the page more easily skimmable.
