Thoughts on written vs. video customer testimonials?

Does anyone have any perspectives on video vs. written customer testimonials for their landing page? I was about to email some customers to ask for a short written testimonial, but in doing some Googling remembered that video testimonials are a thing.

Not sure if it's just fear of rejection or taking the easy way out, but my gut is telling me to just lean toward asking for the written testimonial. I'd welcome any perspectives!
