Thousands upvotes on reddit, and almost nothing on facebook
Hi hackers, I post weekly comics about money, saving, financial success... That get a lot of traction on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/funny/comments/e11nxo/brace_yourself_black_friday_is_coming/

Am I doing something wrong? Do you have any more luck on facebook?
Yeah, that makes total sense — Reddit’s organic reach is honestly unbeatable when something resonates with people there. It’s such a genuine feedback loop compared to Facebook’s pay-to-play setup. I’ve noticed the same — Facebook’s algorithm feels like it’s actively holding posts back unless you boost them.
Reddit, on the other hand, can just take off if the timing and crowd are right. I think you’re right — focusing on Reddit and letting the content naturally spill over to other platforms sounds like the smarter move.
That's pretty funny. I'd feel ecstatic with 1000s of upvotes from reddit. It's really nothing to balk at, and you shouldn't shrug it off so easily (if you have at all). ;)
Personally, I would just focus on reddit, and with thousands of happy redditers, sharing on facebook is going to be imminent anyway...ie, let someone else do it who has more influence for whatever reason on facebook's bizarre algorithm.
On that note, the last time I tried to use facebook seriously to gain traction with sharing, I found that the algorithm is near impossible to make something reach a wide audience UNLESS you've spent money advertising it. It's been about 4 years since I've tried there, so maybe it's changed but I doubt it.

I love reddit and the community. The challenge is to how to bring these good people on our website because the moderators are checking every single post to shoot if you ever put an external link.
I have the same experience with facebook algorithm and I think it's getting worse. Facebook seems designed to make people pay for ads. I hate it.
You have an audience of 172 people on FB versus and audience of 10000s on Reddit...
172 + all my contacts, + all the contacts of the people who shared, that's more than 1000 people.

That’s because average Facebook organic reach is less than 10%! It’s pay to play.
Is there any way to hack facebook organic reach?
Unfortunately no, but Instagram still has a good organic reach plus discovery built in thanks to the explore tab so if I were you I would try it!
Yep IG works better than facebook. How does it compare to twitter in your experience?
It depends on the niche, in general IG is great for B2C while Twitter for B2B but the real answer is that you always need to test!
Yeah Facebook is kind of a wired niche. Happened to me with Instagram vs Facebook vs Twitter. Iny experience twitter works best for textual content, and Instagram with visuals (images). I can't confirm but maybe Facebook works best for videos marketing.
My post do the same, it's been always like that. Different audience.
