Thread: How to Product Hunt launch your product?

It takes weeks of preparation if you want to get featured in Product Hunt.
We recently launched our product and thought we’d share some of the key things we believe made our campaign successful:

• Choose well the day of the week you’re going to launch - Tuesday and Wednesday are typically the busiest days, so you’ll face the fiercest competition.

• Prepare quality launch assets - an impactful tagline, a captivating logo (a GIF even)

• Get your community excited beforehand - PH algorithm will not count users that just signed up to the platform.

• During the launch: start early, get regular engagement, get real and quality engagement.

• Reach out to Makers with good reputation - their activity counts more!

I'm also curious. I'm looking to launch Portabella there in the next few weeks. I hoped that Product Hunt would get me the community and users I need, needing one before makes it a bit more difficult.

On the day you launch on product hunt, send an announcement to your users with a link to your app on product hunt. Do not explicitly ask for upvotes. If you have a loyal user base, some % of those people are going to be motivated to view your app on product hunt and upvote you.

My platform (qualitative.io) is live for anyone to use but I'm not launching on product hunt until I have a bigger user base.

The main takeaway for me is that you want to have at least a small base of passionate users who will come out and support you on your product hunt launch day so that you get the pop to make it to the product hunt homepage.
