Thursday Edition: #daily-stand-up

Why?

That extra nudge of accountability to achieve even a small step on your IH journey each day.

To join in:

01 Share your epic (a big chunk of work with a meaty objective) you'd like to complete by the end of March.

02 Share what you accomplished yesterday.

03 Share what you commit to accomplishing today.

04 Comment on at least one fellow hacker's progress and give them an IH Point for their check in.

Optional:

05 Share your Work In Progress to underscore your accomplishments.

Then tune in the tomorrow to share how you did on your own tasks!

WIP of the Magnus Rush podcast app and podcast augmenting platform

    1. 1

Thanks Davey! Hey I had a problem with Magnus Rush the first time I used it (ios). Whenever I turned off the screen the podcast stopped playing.

      1. 1

Yes, I’m aware of that one. The voice command library I was using had an adverse affect on lock screen/background behavior. I’m taking it out of the next release to restore normal background mode functionality. Thanks for checking out the app!

    01: EPIC

Design, build and deploy a small, free web app which helps business owners craft better customer support emails. The goal is to build a real-world, useful product while honing my JavaScript skills.

    02: YESTERDAY

Did some major refactoring which thankfully didn't break anything.

    03: TODAY

Need to refine how the different sections of the email get populated — currently not very clean.

KUDOS @jimbol for the app launch! Going to check it out today :)

    WIP - Brooklet

    1. 1

(Grinning) Appreciate the call-out even if it isn't true!

      1. 2

Dang, I'm sorry, I saw you posting and thought you were keeping it going after all. :face-palm:

    2. 1

Which min Android version did you go with?

      1. 1

        API 21
Haven't run into any issues with it yet. In my day job API 21 has caused some weird issues though so I'm keeping my eye on it.

KUDOS: @marianneciara Did you make it to the IH gathering last night?

    1. 2

I didn't make it unfortunately, a good friend from London turned up out of the blue in Austin yesterday and I couldn't persuade her to come along to the IH meet-up with me :( I'm gutted but I'll lock my diary down for the next one!

      1. 1

Well... It's a good trade off to be surprised by a good friend! To the next round!

    2. 2

      You’re working on something new?

      1. 1

Indeed! Taking a reprieve from Happy Endings for the month of March to see if another concept has potential. Come end of March, I'll decide which path I'll travel to achieve my epic!
