I was inspired by Courtland's mention of the Thursday update he would send his customers, as his way of keeping himself accountable:

I'd thought I'd do the same this week and open it up for everyone to do that on IndieHackers, do tell:
Sk8 Plan: Appointment scheduling app for figure skating coaches
I met with a couple business mentors, to help me get out of my own head on a couple decisions that are holding me back.
Where I'm at with those right now is to cut across both decisions by releasing a focused solution to one segment and attempting group discussions with those early beta customers. My customers are very scattered geographically, so probably will try more engaging things like video chat, with discussion forum as a last resort, lowest common denominator solution.
I'd love to hear what everyone thinks of this!

Startup Cost is an interesting concept, thanks for sharing. I hope that you get some insightful feature requests.
Awesome idea Grant! Sharing progress is a great way to tap into the power of accountability. In the spirit of sharing...here goes.
What are you working on?
Tribe of Five (www.tribefive.me) - an accountability app to help entrepreneurs work together to build better habits.
What did you complete / achieve this week?
Are you also developing the app yourself? How do you juggle technical work vs the other business stuff like customer development, brainstorming marketing for when you'll start that, etc.?
What are your plans for Android? What was your thought and decision process for releasing iOS first? That's the kind of decision I would agonize over, so how did you decide, commit, and move forward?
PS
I LOVE this idea, and would definitely pay for something that was truly helpful.
Hey David - thanks for the kind words. I really do hope Tribe of Five can add value back for you!
Re: development vs. everything else
Luckily, I have an amazing co-founder who is a BADASS developer. I was a Product Manager in my past life, so we divide and conquer.
Re: iOS vs. Android
Honestly, we didn't agonize too much over iOS versus Android. App is built on React Native so we were always planning ahead to have both platforms.
We chose iOS first just so we could move faster and start getting real world feedback asap.
And now that we have a good baseline, we've doubled back on Android. It should be submitted to Google Play in the next few days =)
Nice one Jonathan, glad to hear things are moving along.
How did you validate that users were willing to put money on the line?
When people sign up for the waitlist, I walk them down a 4 question funnel (across 4 separate back and forth emails).
Cool, thanks for sharing!
Working on a story creating app - will share more about it in this community.
I was able to finish adding apollo and user logins with tokens.
Sounds interesting Michael, look forward to hearing more.
I'll go first :)
