Ticking timebomb - Day 1/30 of building a productized service

Hey Indiehackers.

I have a business that’s about to die in 30 days and I want to capitalize on it.

How I got the idea

It’s actually more of an opportunity that I noticed a need for working as a developer and thought I could productize and market it, kinda sat on it for a while, until I decided to contact a friend and start working with him.

Where we are so far?

So far, I have a finished site that I built for another productized service and reworked it to showcase the current offering. For payments, I decided to use Stripe payment links to start selling as quickly as possible and the logo was made with Midjourney 🔥🔥

What’s next:

  • Reach the first few users organically through twitter & other social media
  • Get a few more users through paid ads
  • Use a creative but slightly spammy cold outreach method

Monetary goals

A goal is to reach 10k in revenue. The optimistic goal is to make 20k.

So by now, I hope you’re already wondering what the dying business is. It’s migrating google analytics to version 4 which expires on the 1st of June.

Curious to know what you think of this gig.

P.S. I plan on posting every day about the progress, challenges, revenue, and wins. Follow for more.

Honestly, I love a "ticking time bomb" / highly relevant business. It creates authentic urgency for you and your customers.

A challenge might be finding the sweet spot for clients... Anyone who outrightly knows that this is going to f*{k up their business probably has done something about it by now (or is planning to but hasn't yet - in which case your service will be right on time!). And anyone who hasn't probably things it won't be too big of a deal to if it doesn't get migrated.

I think if you sell it as a simple solution to get this task off their plate and are transparent on your process, it will be an easy yes for the right folks.

I think the cold outreach and networking with social could be really successful as well. Good luck! Looking forward to seeing your updates!

      Thanks!
I was sitting on this for way too long, but I wanted to do it and get some experience before I jump into the real deal which is https://boostbuddy.io

Thanks for mentioning transparency. I think I should emphasize that more.

Makes sense. It's probably a really great way to roll into those larger optimization relationships w/ Boost Buddy.
