Time for the roaster to get roasted

Changed the copy and layout of https://versoly.com/

Would love to know what you folks think.

Positioning and messaging is so hard. After spending 16 months working on landing pages, the layout and technical details are easy. But copy is something else.

I plan on creating some more free tools to help with this :)

As you invited us to roast you, here's a few quick thoughts:

    Build Websites. Convert Visitors.
Too generic. Doesn't lead on value. You're no different to 1000 others.
Why you? Where's the value to me?

I'd expect a company who builds landing pages to be able to demonstrate some dynamic elements for customisation. You should visualise this if you have it.

"Versoly's blogging CMS is built to convert your blog visitors to paid customers."
What does this mean. A wild claim you have no justification for making. Prove it.

    I’ll roast your hero section:

    • Header: There’s no benefit and it’s too generic.

I’d do: “Visually design a stunning website with no code”.

    • Subheader: Doesn’t explain how.

I’d do: “With our easy to use drag and drop editor anyone can create beautiful landing pages, blogs or full featured websites”.

    • CTA: Could work.

I’d do “Try it free” instead of “Start building now”. Caption: “No signup required”.

Thanks we have 0 "no coders" they all use carrd or webflow. We have had a lot of them try us.

Our customers are marketers, founders and backend developers. In that order.

I’m a marketer and when I see “no code”I pay attention because I know it’s a product I will be able to use 🙂

          Interesting.

When I check landing page products made for marketers they don't even mention no code.

It isn't something that comes up in emails or live chat much as well.

I like the layout better now! For the headline, like other people said it's generic. I would try to tie in one of the keywords here: SaaS, marketers, no-code. "SaaS pages for savvy marketers"

With the subheadings throughout the page, think that if someone saw your page for 5 seconds, that's what they are reading. "Don't start from scratch" and "create content for your website" don't tell me the details I need as a consumer. You can try changing those to something like "Beautiful Building Blocks" (alliteration) and "Modern Blogging CMS".

With that said, I'm already using the service and so far so good!

    Looks fantastic to me!

I like the refresh! Few things that could be improved:

    • before you had a clear message for SaaS. Now it's missing...
    • would be great to have a top level overview at the bottom before the final CTA on all the features you have: Landing page builder, Blog, Analytics, SEO etc...
    • your new content focus is very much on "convert better". As this is quantitative metric, you should consider adding actual case study examples. For example "increase your conversions by 25% - [testimonial example]"
    • suggest to have actual high level comparison with other platforms on your homepage
    • showcase your own case study? how did YOU increase your website KPIs with Versoly ;)
    • Few typos & syntax highlights:
make title in Sentence case: Build websites. Convert visitors.
Integrates with all of your favourite tools
H2 font case inconsistency: make it all Sentence case
      The fastest page speed
Visitors bounce from your website if the page doesn't load fast.
Start publishing content within a few clicks, easily convert your website visitors to subscribers and customers.
With advanced content settings, your blog has a better chance to rank well on search engines.

    Hope this helps!

looks nice and clean! I instantly got what it is about and watched the video and tested the editor without signup.

    a few thoughts:

    • I don't really understand "single platform"
    • "convert better" - it does not explain how.
    • the actual signup is a bit hidden.

    Few things;

    • Your header hurts my eyes. The first thing I notice is some whitespace to the right, with some blue thingy in the middle. It breaks too hard.
    • My mind does not really comprehend that there is a video to be played. A slight backdrop to the video would solve that. Now it just blends into nothing.
    • It's not really clear to me how you're helping convert visitors. It's pretty clear to me that you offer a website builder, but I'm not sure how I would be materializing upon your other promise.
    • Personally I'd add more whitespace in between your features, and add more focus to the image than on your description.
    • "Don't start from scratch" is nice, but what if I'd spend as much time setting up a web page as I would be otherwise. "Up and running in 5 minutes" would sound more inviting to me.
    • "The Fastest Page Speeds" isn't really something which invites me. What I do care about is a somewhat technical infrastructure which does not generate the garbage type of content as would have been the case with the visual website builders years ago. Technical quality results in fast websites, among other benefits.
    • "Implement anything you need", great, but it would be even more amazing if it'd integrate with my existing workflow, and could clone my project from some git repository. This is just a suggestion by the way.
    • "Create content for your website", but you're really advertising your own CMS which should make your customers life easier. I'd be creating content either way, but what if I'd be looking for something which makes editing content much, much more easier?
    • Honestly, I think easy collection of email addresses would be worthy of it's own mention instead of being grouped with the create content part. It's something which can help your customers convert their customers. Don't have your customers look for that. Push it in their face.

    Hi Volkan,
    Everything looks nice and clean.
There are several other website builders, What makes your product better than them?
Why should I use Versoly over Wix? I think you should highlight the answer for that.

    1. 2

      Good question.

We're much more flexible than every other builder. But don't come with the headaches of wordpress.

We have an in-built HTML/CSS editor when you need to start doing custom landing pages.

But even if you use that you can still use our page builder to create landing pages quickly.

We're the best of both worlds :)

  9. 1

    That's quite good already !

    Here are some comments :

    • You can highlight your benefits instead of your features. You can use the "So what" technique to do that eg. "Don't start from scratch" -> "So what ?" -> "Ease/Speed of development" -> that's what your heading should highlight
    • I don't see any examples of websites built using Versoly. From your 4 XXX clients, can't you show off 2 or 3 websites that would show real life examples of how your product has been used ? I'm sure they would love having a free backlink + visibility in return ;)
    • The main CTA (hero button) is broken !
    1. 1

Thanks will update the other stuff soon.

We have 3 websites in the testimonials and plan to add a showcase page.

      Fixed.
