Time management tips

Hello, for the new product that I am building, I am focusing now on productivity. One of the topics will be time management.
As a solopreneur and/or indie hacker, what are your top 3 time management tips?
I think every person is different so what works for you doesn't work for me, but maybe there is some common ground.

Loved hearing your thoughts

    1. Define the tasks: break down a large piece of work in to smaller chunks and prioritize each. Iterate on the top priority item (depth first) until you get chunks that are mostly doable in a single day or work session.
    2. Paced deep focus: use Pomodoro style timing to fully focus on a single task for relatively short spans of time (in my case 30 mins), with timed breaks in between.
    3. Time box blockers: when hitting a bug or some other blocker, pre-allocate a finite amount of time (depending on the complexity). Past that time, put the blocker aside and move on to a different task or take a prolonged break. Come back to the problem only after having time to clear your mind in some way (a shower works great for me). For blockers that can benefit from external help, put out a post (good opportunity to summarize the problem state) before going on a break. You may have additional context, potential solutions when returning to it.

create a task list and keep adding tasks to it whenever they come to your mind. change task to in progress when you start working for them and move to done when its completed. I do this with single org mode file. Changing state from todo->progress->done can be done with pressing same key. I also use clock-in/clock-out to measure time which is again single key stroke away in emacs.

    Some time management tips:

    1. write down the to do list
    2. break down the task into mini tasks, which is easier to concentrate on.
    3. Celebrate the concentration.
    4. Tell the people surrounding you that you need quite time to concentrate on.

    I manage my tasks by:

    • Doing weekly planning.
    • Time blocking tasks (setting a timer, putting some music, and doing the thing.)
    • Taking breaks to refuel the energy.

Doing block tasks so like time blocking? Have you tried the pomodoro? I am a support of time blocking because it works better for me but Pomodoro I use when I am learning a topic for example

Pomodoro doesn't work for me. It just 25 minutes that are not useful for any purposes. The least I do in the time blocks is 45-50 mins. But I usually go for 90 min blocks.

And especially for learning new things is where I put my most focus in due to the way I approach learning.

Been handling multiple projects like MicroSaaSHQ, Siteoly and Flezr and a few more.

Here are my pointers that hugely helps overall:

    1. Make to-do list for the next day before sleeping
    2. Do the hardest task first
    3. Time your tasks
    4. Avoid Multitasking
    5. Celebrate small wins
    6. Use mindfulness trigger
    7. Practice self-care
    8. Use Pomodoro technique

The following 3 things helped me:

    1. Filling out the daily planner with tasks and (!!!) using a green pen. I used it to mark completed tasks and felt so relieved... I wanted to tick more green boxes.
    2. Pomodoro session on YouTube. Already a classic.
    3. Agree with yourself to sit on the task for 5 minutes, and then you are already drawn into the process yourself. It's a great way to get started when you really don't want to do it.

Need to focus on these tips also.
    Understand time vs. priorities
Give your undivided attention and avoid multitasking
    Empower yourself to say “no”
    Consider tomorrow
Don't underestimate the power of a few minutes
    Make time for your distractions
Stick to it, but refine as needed
Prioritize tasks like Deliver a Front-row Experience with a Perimeter LED Screen and refuse inessential tasks.

Yes what works for one (may or may not work for others)

    • I would say set a clear planner for your task
    • Set timer to accomplish it
    • Block out the distraction
