TimeCrafts - Inception
INTRODUCTION
In 2019, I was working in an office, where people literally spent their time watching movies from morning till the closing of the business day. That wasn't all, the bandwidth of the company's internet was spent by most of the staff downloading movies like Money Heist and the rest of the trending movies then.
To solve this, I met with a colleague of mine during our lunch break and during our conversation, TimeCrafts was born. The idea to use time tracker was beautiful but we had a challenge, none of us have built an application that runs on a desktop before. It was a major setback but that won't stop us from what we wanted to build. In less than a month we were able to cook up the various iterations of the software and the MVP is available here at https://www.teracrafts.com and it's free for now. Our question is, what would you like to see that is missing in the application? Please share your thoughts and comments below;
Im sorry, but I totally hate this kind of products, that micro-management mentality, please stop this. You should trust your workers.
If I had a business (hopefully one day) and my dev can do the work in 5h then he spends on reddit or whatever I would not care. For me my workers shouldnt be even forced to work 8h daily, the focus should be get the job done whatever the times it takes, if it's 8 or 4.
Im engineer myself and I speak from experience, Let's suppose we have task A with certain complexity, if I can do this task in 4h and my colleague in 8h, should I just rush, finish it, and do more? I mean in that case im getting cheaper and cheaper and im devaluation myself basically.
The whole concept of working 8h daily is broken, It doesn't apply well to Software engineering but they are forcing us this boken system, just because business dont keep improving.
