I didn’t build TimeSlip to chase a tech trend or please investors. I built it because I was tired of seeing car culture fractured by clunky, overpriced hardware and fragmented apps that don’t talk to each other.
For the last six years, my days have been spent on the road as a professional delivery driver, and my nights have been spent as a performance mechanic rebuilding engines and wiring up projects. My mind naturally processes the world through logic, systems, and efficiency. When I looked at the tools available to our community, I didn’t see efficiency—I saw a broken system where you need one expensive device for telemetry, separate apps to find local parts, and completely different forums just to talk shop with other builders.
I knew our smartphones had the raw hardware to do it all, so I decided to stop waiting for someone else to build the solution. I spent nine months working in total silence after my delivery shifts, engineering a single, unified ecosystem from scratch. After 290+ code iterations, TimeSlip is the result: a raw, fast tool built by a real enthusiast who values pure utility and independent execution over corporate fluff.
To fix this fragmented landscape, I engineered TimeSlip to handle three massive pillars inside a single, lightweight application:
Hardware-Free Telemetry: Instead of forcing you to buy a $150+ external GPS puck, TimeSlip uses a custom data filter that combines a smartphone's internal GPS with high-frequency accelerometer inputs. It smooths out the raw sensor noise to approximate highly consistent 0-60 mph, eighth-mile, and quarter-mile acceleration curves directly from the device in your pocket.
Global Social Network: Verified runs are automatically uploaded to a live worldwide leaderboard. To break down regional barriers, the app features real-time global group chats equipped with an automatic translation layer, allowing builders to talk shop and swap tuning logic seamlessly across different languages.
Local Marketplace: A dedicated marketplace built right into the ecosystem, making it simple to source, buy, and trade performance parts or project vehicles directly within the local community.
I built this to prove that with enough discipline, a solo developer can deliver a world-class platform for the community that drives it. TimeSlip is completely open and free to explore on the Google Play Store—built by a builder, for builders.
