Timing kills more pipeline than bad copy ever will.

Nobody talks about the 24-hour decay curve on LinkedIn.

Here's what the data actually shows:

  1. Message within 24 hours of acceptance of connection request - reply rates sit around 35–40%.

  2. Wait 72 hours: drops to ~10%.

  3. Wait a week: you're at noise level.

👍 The connection acceptance IS the signal. They just thought about you. That's the peak of their attention - and most people let it expire.

What to do with this:

→ Don't batch your follow-ups weekly. Trigger message 1 the moment a request is accepted.
→ If you're doing this manually across 50+ connections a month, you're already losing half your pipeline to timing alone.
→ Automate the trigger, not just the message. The sequence should start on acceptance, not on a calendar.

The outreach isn't broken. The timing is ⏰
