Can't get a page to rank, no matter what you do? Audit your semantic relevance and adjust your copy accordingly to move up in the rankings.
Google measures language patterns with an algorithm called TF-IDF to determine the "semantic relevance" of pages, and see if keywords are being adequately addressed. So if one of your pages just won't rank, you might have a problem with your semantic relevance score. To run an audit, you can download a free tool called Website Auditor. Head to Content Analysis, then select TF-IDF. Add the uncooperative page's URL and the relevant keywords, and run the audit. The tool will analyze your page's semantic relevance against your competitors', giving you a list of words and phrases that should be added to your content. Then all you have to do is add them — easy peasy. @julian of Demand Curve says he has seen sites climb to top positions by following this approach.
