Tips for making a successful affiliate program?
I'm in the planning stages of starting a saas that will market to both developers and customers but I foresee developer adoption driving customer adoption--and customer adoption would be the real money maker. So I was wondering if anyone has created a successful affiliate program for their saas and would like to share any advice?

Wow! Thanks for the detailed writeup. I was actually planning on just mailing checks to affiliates but much of what you explained would still apply.

Oh didn't know that, good catch. I guess I'll have to use Stripe. I knew you could accept payments with Stripe but wasn't sure you could send money to 3rd parties.
