Tips For Posting On SM Regularly/Productivity Tricks

Morning everyone!

Working hard to finish my post on Keyword Research today - I've told too many people I'd have it ready by Monday so now I have to get it ready lol

I've really fallen off the social media wagon. There's always "something" that deters me from posting. Whether it be lack of photos, anxiety about using stock or not, I haven't published a new post in a while, etc.

I want to batch schedule to save time, and I have SO much info to share I don't even know where to start... today might be the day I just need to GO for it.

Do you have a social media calendar? How do you determine what to post? I feel like posting super randomly about different topics is going to be way less helpful (but way easier) than posting content in an intentional order.

Any thoughts? I'd love some productivity tips. The one's I'm currently implementing are:

  1. Write tomorrows to-do list at the end of the day, so I already know what I need to do when I wake up.
  2. Avoid social media, email, etc. until those main tasks are done.
  3. I keep a bullet journal to keep organize and habit track.

I have ~41k followers on Instagram, here are a few of the things I do:

    1. Definitely schedule. Takes about 1 hour a week, but I rest easy and know that my posts will go out at optimal times. I use Later.com and love it.
    2. I find things to post by following major hashtags in my space (e.g. #artinstallation, #artcurators, etc). I also like to look at my competition and see what worked well for them a while ago (e.g. seeing top posts from 2019 and reposting similar things)
    3. Clean your "following" feed so that its only people relevant to what you're trying to achieve. I have a personal instagram account I use for fun, but my work instagram is all about business.

Just this last week I decided to invest more into Twitter, where I currently 53 followers (lol), here are a few things I'm trying to do to get better there:

    1. Again, cleaning my feed. I've unfollowed everyone that I won't be interacting with and moved them to Lists. I've also hidden those lists from appearing on my home feed so that I stay laser focused.
    2. Identifying different content types, and trying to schedule a variety each week (in my case, its a mixture of links with commentary, lists, compliments, and motivational items(
    3. Trying to stay aligned to just 1 or 2 topics. Though its restrictive and makes it "harder" to find things to post, it also is clarifying in that I don't just tweet any thought that comes to mind.
    4. Creating a quota. I'm aiming for 1-3 tweets/day along with 15 responses to other tweets. Adding that into my habit tracker to keep me on pace.

    Hope some of that helps!

Thank you so much for this info! I'm definitely going to start checking my competition for content ideas.

And I'm definitely going to double down on my content types.

I LOVE the quota idea!!! I'm definitely going to be using that.

      Thanks again!!

I do Twitter for Indie Hackers, my main and overly simplistic approach is:

    • always be taking notes
    • schedule some stuff in advance
    • maintain a monthly Notion doc with a plan and ideas of what to Tweet

Use Buffer in combination with IFFTT to write one post and paste it all overall the web!
