Comment below any tips you have when building a site with a blog that has a newsletter form. I'm trying to figure out why nobody has signed up yet even though a site I'm working on gets lots of traffic everyday (around 200 and growing).
Any tips on how to make a newsletter form actually get found and used?
Josh, not sure what site you're asking for. It's much easier to give feedback if you showed us. I looked at https://joshternyak.com/ and when I actively went looking for a place to sign up I couldn't find it. That's the first thing I would say: add a place to sign up for a newsletter.
Thanks, I meant just in general when a site you have that gets around 200 visitors a day has a newsletter form sprinkled throughout the pages people visit
okay that makes sense... that site isn't the one you're working on.
I would ask then: Why should someone sign up for the newsletter?
IF you're getting traffic, where is the traffic coming from? What are they looking for? What's their intention? Do they want something right now or are they looking to be informed on a weekly basis about the topic.
Does the newsletter form say "sign up for our newsletter" or is it written for the user's benefit? Does it say why someone should sign up?
Post your newsletter form page here so we can figure out what can be done.
Hey @JoshTernyak - any example of your blog? Would be great to see.
I attract subscribers from a one-page Notion, I embed my Substack directly.
Put in the middle or end of every article, if the article is good, then it is a great chance that the user wants to read more from you.
Don't put it at the beginning though, and make sure your form feels natural when put in the middle of an article. No different theme or color than the rest of the site and article.
Make sure it’s on the landing page of course. That’s what I do on buildfaster.co. I suggest that you also have a list if benefits the person will get for signing up.
If you dint mind me asking, what site is this on? I think it will help me understand what is going on better.
