Tips to a great app launch?

First of all, I am glad to be a part of such a great community. The knowledge and insights I am getting are so valuable and I want to thank each of you.
The thing is I am building a social app in travel niche. The app is on track to launching in both apple and google stores in coming weeks. Since, i am new to the app business, can you guys share some strategies/experiences to successful launch of the app. I have some social media presence and some email lists too.

Thank you for your insights. I am thinking about creating a free app with subscriptions.Can you tell which option may be good between creating a paid app versus a free app with paid subscriptions ?
It depends on what your goal , Are you looking to increase the app download or do you want to have paid users from the start.
