Tips to deal with daily migraines?

Looking for resources.

A member of my household has been having near daily migraines and dizziness. We have gone to the doctor but tests reveal... nothing. Everything is 'normal'. Except for the the fact that they wake up with a headache and when they stand up they get dizzy and this has been happening for months.

I only get headaches when I am dehydrated or exhausted so I can't use my own personal experiences.

Looking for people who have overcome these types of problems and ideas. Thanks!

So the doctor said its not migraines or they said they are migraines but you are not sick? When I was diagnosed with migraines my doctor gave me some of these tips (in addition to migraine medication) which helped tremendously. Sounds like this person has already tried the first three:

    • Eat more whole, healthy foods and drink more water
    • Sleep more
    • Exercise more
    • Reduce time spent looking at the phone and other screens, especially in the hours immediately before and after sleeping
    • Make the room as dark as possible during sleep
    • Reduce sources of stress (for me it was the day job). This is by far the most common culprit.

Doctor said they are definitely migraines, but we can't find a root cause. Lab work all normal etc.

Definitely trying to do everything on this list. Thanks!

Ah, gotcha. If possible (not sure what your insurance situation is) I'd also recommend getting opinions from multiple doctors! Its totally anecdotal but most of the time I see someone find success in reducing migraines, the root cause wasn't found in lab work but in an analysis of lifestyle/habits. So a good migraine doc will dive deep into those as opposed to just running lab work, throwing meds at the problem and calling it day.

Its definitely smart to rule out possible medical conditions, though so I think you're approaching it well 👍

Believe it or not, but in the past I also had some problems due to stress and anxiety, but everyone knows it's quite solvable if you bother. By the way, recently a friend recommended a cure such as tools from this source https://easystd.com/hub and I started sleeping and getting enough sleep. There was a good vibe and a lot of energy. At least try to use it.

Migraines are a disease in of themself and aren't associated with any test abnormalities. They are a unique condition and aren't regular headaches. Not every migraine is associated with aura, either.

I highly recommend they see a headache neurologist if you live in a big city. There have been rapid advances in migraine treatment in the past 5 years including an explosion of new drugs. The only way to find a treatment that works for them is to see an expert who treats migraines.

I also recommend they use Migraine Buddy to keep track of their headaches so the neurologist can see if the patterns fit the diagnosis.

    DM if you have questions.
Edit: Am an MD, and regularly treat migraines :-)

This will help. Need to be consistent. A long term fix for sure though.
