Hey Indie Hackers!
Honestly, I got so fed up with switching between four or five different websites every time I needed to work with PDFs. One site to summarize, another to blur out sensitive info, and yet another just to split or convert pages. Half of them put basic tools behind paywalls, and the rest just felt outdated.
So I decided to solve my own headache and built Pditor —an AI-first workspace that handles heavy document work under one roof.
What I’ve shipped so far:
Interactive Chat: Ask questions and get quick answers from long PDFs with direct page citations.
Auto PII Redaction: AI automatically spots and hides sensitive data in seconds.
Core PDF Utilities: Quick splitting, merging, OCR, and format conversions.
I’m actively working on improving it right now, and I’d love to get some honest feedback from this community. Check out Pditor if you have a minute and let me know what you think or what features you think are missing!
The strongest part is the combination of document work and PII redaction. The citations make the AI layer more trustworthy, while redaction gives Pditor a stronger job-to-be-done than simply being another PDF chatbot.
Spot on! That was actually the main goal—Chat with PDF is everywhere, but without citations and real PII redaction, it’s hard to rely on for sensitive doc workflows. Really appreciate the feedback!
The combination is what makes Pditor stand out. Citations address trust in the AI output, while PII redaction addresses the sensitivity of the documents themselves.
