Hey Indie Hackers! 👋
If you live in Canada, you know the morning struggle: waking up, checking multiple websites, and waiting for official news on school closures or bus cancellations—all while trying to get the day started.
I decided to solve this frustration by building Snow Day Predictor Canada.
It’s an AI-powered tool that goes beyond standard weather forecasts. It analyzes real-time weather data and cross-references it with specific school board policies to give you instant, reliable predictions.
You can access it in two ways:
Android App: Download on Google Play
Why I built it: My goal was to eliminate the "morning anxiety" for Canadian families and students. I wanted to create something that provides clarity and helps people plan their day without the wait.
I’d love your feedback: If you have a moment, please check it out. I’m especially interested in hearing what you think about the UI/UX and how I can make the predictions even more helpful.
Are you working on any local utility tools? Let’s chat about the challenges of building localized apps!
This feels less like a weather product and more like a decision product.
People aren't really asking, "Will it snow?" They're asking, "Should I get the kids ready for school?" If the predictions consistently reduce that uncertainty, the value extends well beyond forecasting.
