After years of using dating apps, I realized something: most “matches” never lead to real connections. You swipe, match, maybe send a message — and then silence, delays, or dry convos. It's like networking with strangers who aren't even sure they want to talk.
So I built Blooom.love — a dating app where the date comes first.
Instead of endless profiles, Blooom shows you actual events created by other users — think chill coffee runs, rooftop hangouts, art strolls, or beach limes. You can request to join, invite someone to your own date, or just vibe in the feed. It’s about shared experiences from the start — and letting connections grow naturally from there.
We’ve also made intent simple. You don’t have to label yourself “casual” or “committed” right away. Blooom picks up on your energy based on how you interact and matches you accordingly.
The app is currently in beta, and I’m looking for:
Early testers
Feedback on the concept and flow
People who are as tired of swiping fatigue as I am
If that sounds like you — or if you're just curious — check it out at blooom.love and let me know what stands out (or what doesn’t).
Thanks for reading!
Love this approach, Carlton. Starting with real-life experiences instead of endless swiping feels so much more natural. The way Blooom focuses on shared moments and lets intent show through behavior is smart and refreshing. Curious, what kinds of early feedback have you gotten so far?
I've only launched the beta yesterday, but so far it's all good comments, everyone that has tried it thinks the approach is good.
The MVP is very rough, so it has really been pushing me to clean it up and be ready for more users
