I'm working on validating an idea and having a real hard time positioning the value-prop.
I've spoken to a few people about how they approach the scenario I'm working on, and in every case I can see the issue that needs resolving. This is also a "scratch your own itch" project, so I know the problem well.
It's around data analytics BUT it only apples to a niche type of data... which is what gives it it's power.
However, the audience types using that data are vast and varied. I could instead focus on one particular type of user, which would be much easier... but then doesn't do justice to the fact the solution can address a multitude of scenarios.
So, do I go hard on the feature niche, or hard on a particular use case of that feature?
If the answer is "it depends", what's a good process to figure that out? Multiple landing pages?
If a potential client learns that your solution "can address a multitude of scenarios", will it make them more likely to buy?
If the answer is no, then the path forward should be clear: pick the most valuable use case you can think of and seek to dominate it. Good luck!
@scribu hmm great point.... The answer is no since they are very different types of users.
Thanks so much, this really helped!
